Black Cohosh (Actaea racemose/Cimicifuga racemose) is from the buttercup family and is native to eastern North America.  This plant can be found in rich soils of the shady woods in the forests, specifically in Appalachia, including in 25 of the United States of America along with Quebec and Ontario.  Numerous studies have been conducted to show black cohosh effectiveness in alleviating menopause symptoms.
